The Scarborough Bluffs stand approximately 100 metres (350 feet) above
Lake Ontario at their highest point. The lakeshore along the Bluffs is comprised of a low bluff of rock, till, clay and/or glacier sediment, with a narrow beach at the base of the Bluffs.
The intersection of older and higher glacier and lake deposits have produced these impressive Scarborough Bluffs - spectacular cathedral like cliffs which rise as high above the lake which are unique to the area.
